Tool Maker/Machinist

Harger has a great opportunity for an experienced Machinist/Tool Maker to join our team on first shift. We are seeking a highly motivated, ambitious Tool Maker that has at least 3-5 years of tool making experience.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintain and troubleshoot progressive dies.
  • Inspects tools, dies and identify functionality of equipment.
  • Create or modify tooling using blueprints, sketches, and AutoCAD 2-D.
  • Set-up and operate all machines in the Tool Room which includes using AutoCAD 2-D along with Edgecam or similar software to program the HAAS VMC.
  • Work closely with engineering and lead persons.
  • Must have own tools.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A minimum of three years of machine shop/tool making experience required.
  • Knowledge of progressive dies and stamping.
  • Able to setup and run Haas 3 axis VMC or similar machine
  • AutoCad2-D experience manipulating drawings to program the VMC. Knowledge of Edgecam a plus.
  • Experience of repair and maintenance of progressive dies is a plus.
  • Ability to work within close tolerances
  • Experience on the following machines or equipment are required.
    • 3 axis manual mill
    • Manual lathe
    • Manual surface grinder
    • Automatic water grinder
    • 3 axis Vertical machine center
    • Basic AutoCAD experience
    • Harig grind all
    • Magna sin
    • Optical comparator

Maintenance Technician

Harger has a great opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team on first shift. We are seeking a highly motivated, ambitious and organized individual that has a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician. The candidate should have the ability to work independently and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in planning, building, installing and servicing PC, CNC ad PLC machines, and systems as well as repairing and upgrading basic PCs to advanced controls are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect equipment by reviewing parts and ensuring that they are working properly.
  • Identify and perform necessary maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Communicate with management regarding faulty equipment and make recommendations on maintenance techniques for optimal performance.
  • Responsible for following safety rules as well as using safe procedures.
  • Keeping all tools and supplies in their work area put away in the appropriate location on a daily basis.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance process.
  • Familiar with electrical, electronics, PLC, CNC and PC controlled equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning machinery
  • Ability to read electrical, schematic and ladder control drawings
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Mathematically literate.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Knowledge of various types of equipment and processes such as:
    • Presses, Turning centers, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Servo drive systems.
    • Hand and power tools
  • Ability to work independently

Qualification:

  • Continuous standing, moving and reaching with arms and hands.
  • Frequently walks, bends, lifts and carries items.
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.
