Current Openings
Quality Inspector - Grayslake, IL (1st and 2nd shift)

Inspect incoming materials as well as manufactured products to ensure suitability for use for manufacturing and shipments to customers. 

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials.
  • Take basic measurements to verify against packing slip and NAV item description. Verify against blueprint.
  • Obtain and review material certifications as required by inspection plans.
  • Verify material certificates to list of Harger specifications.
  • Record data, scan documents as needed for manufacturing and quality.
  • Perform additional inspection on “Enterprise Critical” items.
  • Notify the Quality Engineer in a timely manner of any discrepancies on incoming inspection or quality concerns on products.
  • First piece inspection and ongoing in process inspection of manufactured products in various cells.
  • In process inspection of other products as scheduled/assigned.
  • Perform incoming and in process inspection of weld metal
  • Perform and shop audits
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to use and read a tape measure, caliper, micrometer, hardness tester and other quality control equipment for measurement and analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills and organization skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous standing, moving and reaching with arms and hand.
  • Frequently walks, bends, lifts and carries items.
  • Periodically going up and down ladders.
  • Occasionally requires lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in an office and shop environment.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors.

Inside Sales Representative - Grayslake, IL

To support customer needs and drive sales in a fast-paced team environment. Provide accurate, timely and quality work to customers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Prompt handling of all customer service requests, including but not limited to quote requests, technical product information, application questions, and customer contract resolutions.
  • Follow up on quotes and projects to drive sales and derive market intelligence.
  • Ensure timely responses to customers.
  • Work with order entry, manufacturing and shipping to resolve questions on orders including but not limited to pricing, lead times, freight, payment terms, and part numbers.
  • Work with team members to meet customer’s needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School diploma is required. Some college is preferred.
  • Electrical or industry related experience is desired.
  • Work independently with attention to detail and provide accurate information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Navision ERP system is a plus.

Maintenance Technician - Grayslake, IL

Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician will be performing regular maintenance on our equipment, monitoring the equipment, and ensuring it is running optimally for continued production.

 Job Description

Your responsibilities will include inspecting equipment and its parts to ensure the machine is working properly.  During routine maintenance you will identify and perform necessary repairs on equipment as necessary.  Since accurate servicing and activities are important to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions, knowledge of manufacturing production equipment (CNC, EDM, punch presses, lathes & stamping machines) and air, power and hand tools is necessary.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Communicate with management regarding faulty equipment and make recommendations on maintenance techniques
  • Following shop safety procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills

A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required. Knowledge of mechanical maintenance process and having a mechanical aptitude is required. This includes having the ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning machinery and read blueprints and drawings. Being mathematically literate is essential.  Must have experience with, and knowledge of, manufacturing, electrical, electronics, CNC, PLC, pneumatics & fluidics (hydraulics).

You will be communicating and working closely with team members, so good communication skills are required.

Shipping Clerk - Grayslake, IL

Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk works with all areas of the company to fulfill shipping requirements by ensuring that products are received efficiently for use within the plant or inventory stock for resale to customers.

Job Description

The Shipping Clerk picks and packs orders and processes the shipments via FedEx, UPS and other third-party logistics suppliers. This includes building crates and using forklifts and other material movement equipment. You will maintain inventory by performing a daily cycle count and make sure stock shelves are maintained properly and are well organized.

Along with your manager, you will review daily reports to determine shipping priorities, methods and work assignments to meet shipping /receiving schedules. You will work fast and accurately to meet quick turnaround orders placed by customers and Inside Sales. You will work alongside the receiving department to coordinate the movement of product throughout the facility.

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. You must have experience working in a shipping/receiving environment or related industrial experience and have inventory control knowledge including RF scanning capabilities. You must be able to use hand tools (saw, drill, air guns) and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Basic math, computer, organizational and communication skills are essential. Attention to detail is extremely important.  A forklift license/certification is required.

Tool Room Technician-Trainee - Grayslake, IL

Tool Room Trainee

The Tool Room Trainee is a reliable, organized, analytical person with strong problem-solving skills. In this role, having a mechanical aptitude along with the ability to read blueprints and knowledge of CNC programming is helpful.

Job Description

As a trainee, you will be learning by assisting the Tool Room Manager in building new fixtures and dies. Here you will make modifications to programs by reading blueprints including understanding their requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.

Your other responsibilities include loading programs into CNC machining centers and modifying the programs as needed. As part of our training program, you also will be working with manual equipment including surface grinders, milling and drilling machines, measuring equipment, including optical comparator, calipers, micrometers height gages and more.

When you are not building a new fixture or die, you are responsible for keeping your work area clean and organized. Following safety rules and procedures and wearing the appropriate PPE is critical because you will be running CNC equipment, both automated and manual.

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills

A high school diploma is required for this position. Ideally, you will already be enrolled in Manufacturing Technology classes or have a certificate of completion in Precision Machining Technology, or similar coursework. This tells us you are familiar with various types of equipment, such CNC equipment as well as air and power tools, rulers and gages. If you are enrolled in the TMA Apprenticeship program, this job would be a great fit for you.

  • Set up and operate various machines and assemble parts as directed by Cell Lead.
  • Effectively monitor production equipment.
  • Read and understand bill of materials and blue prints of drawings.
  • Communicate with Cell Lead on all issues related to discrepancies on drawing or BOM.
  • Inspect pieces/parts and ensure they conform to specification and industry standards.
  • Operator air and power tools, as needed.
  • Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, thread gages, gage pins and tape measure.
  • Maintain productivity at levels that match or exceed production standards.
  • Responsible for following safety rules as well as using safe procedures.
  • Keeping all tools and supplies in their work area put away in the appropriate location on a daily basis. Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control Department.

CNC Machine Operator - IL

CNC Machine Operator

The CNC Machine Operator sets up and operates a variety of CNC (computer numerical control) machines to produce products according to our customers’ specifications.  As a CNC Machine Operator you are responsible for managing the equipment from setup and operation to inspecting final products.

Job Description

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for producing machined parts including preparing and loading raw materials, performing tooling changes, programing the machines and inspecting the product throughout the production process. You will work closely with our Engineering and Quality departments to maintain productivity at levels that match or exceed production standards. You will read blueprints, mechanical drawings and other written material (ex: BOM), use air and power tools as well as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, thread gages and gage pins, so a mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and understand measurements are important.

You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills

A High School diploma or GED is required along with a CNC Machining Certificate or evidence of success in a previous CNC machine operator role. Good communication skills are essential as you will need to work with the Cell Lead on all issues related to discrepancies.
